The Constructive Disagreement Framing
Disagreement framed as opposition produces resistance; the same disagreement framed as inquiry produces engagement. The constructive disagreement framing principle holds that professionals should frame challenges as exploration of shared questions rather than assertion of opposing positions. Framing is not cosmetic. How a challenge is presented shapes how it is received. A challenge framed as "this is wrong" invites defense. The same concern framed as "help me understand how this addresses X" invites explanation. Substance identical, reception entirely different. Framing constructively requires attention to language and posture. For those developing effective professional development strategies, disagreement framing distinguishes those whose challenges improve outcomes from those whose challenges merely register opposition. Our framing framework provides language approaches. www.stes.tyc.edu.tw , www.stes.tyc.edu.tw , www.stes.tyc.edu.tw , www.stes.tyc.edu...
